You should know how important first impression is. Like it or not but people create their own opinions about you, a lot of times before a single word comes out of your mouths. Lets be honest, you are judging people too, we all do it, it’s a part of human nature. We do it, without even realising that we are doing it.
How you can use your body language to look confident and feel more attractive, before a single sound comes out of your mouth.
There are five body language tips to instantly look more attractive:
1) Avoid Your Pockets
If you want to show confidence, to stick your hands in your pockets is a wrong move. It is going to give an impression that you are shy or even scared. It is literally the opposite of being confident. The last thing you want is to look uncomfortable, it looks like you are unsure of yourself, especially to someone who has not even have the opportunity to meet you properly. So, instead of hiding your hands into your pockets, take them out use them, use them for conversational purposes, use them to old something whether its your phone, your wallet or your keys. It doesn’t really matter, that way thou people wouldn’t think that you have to hide your hands.
2) Act Fun
Don’t look like a boring group of friends. It’s a weekend and you are out with your froup of friends, suppose to be exciting but sometimes we don’t show it very well. You go to a bar with your best friends and we stand there right against the bar, looking around trying to find something, trying to find someone instead of joining the company of who we are with. Guess what, that shows people that you and your friend or friends, you guys are not fun you are just standing there looking for fun somewhere else. That’s not attractive at all, but if you are having fun with your friends, if you are laughing, if you are chatting, telling eachother stories and jokes then people will notice that and will be very interested to find out, what the heck you guys are happy about.
You are not being asked to fake anything but give your friends your full attention. Face them have eye contact, smile and good things will follow naturally. Girls love to be in the middle of the fun crowd, they will come to you, they would like to know what you are happy about and to make things better you are doing fun. So it’s a win win, make sure you try this out when you are out with your friends next time.
3) Take Wide Steps
Kind of a funny one but true, take wide steps when walking. When you take wide steps, it shows others that you are on a mission, it shows more confidence. You are on your way, you are going somewhere important, that is attractive.
When you are taking tiny penguin steps, it gives others an impression that you are not confident, you don’t have plan, you are unsure, you don’t even know where you are going. It might seems that you are overthinking things but its opposite. We as humans we notice that body language and we associate them with the confidence or fear, without even thinking about it that its an automatic thing. So, walk with purpose, show confidence in your steps.
4) Don’t Cross Your Arms
Don’t cross your arms when you are socializing. When you walk to a club, a massively jacked security guard is standing there with his arms crossed, they do not look like the guys you want to approach and have a friendly conversation with.
In a social setup, you cross your arms when you are cold, you are nervous, it’s a protective posture its not a friendly or approachable one. So, uncross those arms, relax a little and hit with a smile instead.
5) Stop Fidgeting
If you can’t keep still it means you are worried about something. This is normal thing to do when you are worried, finding a place for your hand and there is no place. Some of us even fidget with our legs, like they keep moving them because they are too nervous or excited or anxious. Fidgeting in any way is a clear sign that you are nervous about something. When you are not fidgeting, you are cool, you are calm, you are collected which are all attracted features.
For people who fidget a lot, stop everything. Stop thinking, stop moving and all of it, now shake it off, your arms, your neck, your legs. Just shake them off and then focus on your breathing and your posture. Keep your back straight, breathing in, breathing out and feeling the air while breathing. That it, do it few times a day when you are feeling anxious and you are actually going to start doing it daily and naturally after a while.
Bonus Tip: Stand Up Straight
Make sure that you stand up straight, keep those shoulders back as often as possible. It is not a hardest thing because when you train your body, the wrong way, it will take long time to change but you should be committed to do it right.
Stand up straight, shoulders at back, chest out, its better for your look. Most importantly, its better for your health.
